WICKED Synopsis:

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Guardian by Courtney Cole

GUARDIAN Synopsis:
Sometimes, things that go bump in the night are real.

My name is Whitney Lane.  I’m sixteen years old and at first, I thought I was crazy.

I kept seeing shadows move along walls, and hearing whispers around corners, but whenever I looked, there was never anything there.

Until one day, there was.

Our world isn’t what we think.  There are things around us, good things, bad things, scary things.
Things that we tell ourselves aren’t real, but they are.

They’re very real, and they’re terrifying.

I’ve been swept up now, in a battle of good and evil, confused about love and what is supposed to be love, but isn’t.  I don’t know what to think anymore.  I can’t trust my emotions and I don’t know what is true.

There’s only one thing I know for sure.

Nothing is what it seems.

ABOUT COURTNEY COLE:

Courtney lives in quiet suburbia, close to Lake Michigan, with her real-life Prince Charming, her ornery kids (there is a small chance that they get their orneriness from their mother) and a small domestic zoo.

Echoes (The Dolphin Prophecy Book 2) by Amy Evans

Echoes Synopsis:
Echoes are the sounds the universe makes when you ignore it the first time.

Instead of signs, they are sirens. Echoes are louder and more dangerous than Clicks.

All the twins on Pinhold Island are healthy again, but the summer is still upside down. Cami's been paying better attention to what hides beneath the surface on her seemingly idyllic home, trying to make sense of the new threats to her friends and family. Massive storms have come to Pinhold, flooding the Island in a way not seen in generations. They leave behind destruction and the Red Tide, which lends the Island an eerie glow, makes the air itch and people's eyes burn. Through it all, Cami and Blake are working hard to repair their relationship, Mica is attempting to trust the grown ups on island, Shay is worried she'll never swim again and everyone is tying to re-focus on the Surf Carnival and training for The Guard.

But the threats to Pinhold from the sky don't compare to the danger that still hides beneath the waves. Can Cami and The Guard find the cause in time to reset the pin, or will they suffer damages that can never be reversed?

EXCERPT

“I only want you. All of you Cami,” he said, gathering me to him and pressing my head against his chest.

I could feel his heart pound under my ear. It sounded strong, but I could feel the worry coming with every beat. He’d moved away from the jealousy that had fueled his drumming, and now he just hated every single second I spent with Kaleb in my thoughts. I could see inside him, the way the blood actually tripped up, choking into the sharp corners of his veins instead of flowing evenly.

“See what you do to me?” he asked, voice rough, strained. He was in my head and knew I understood. I felt gratitude for this level of connection, but the way that I could just know something so complicated that went way beyond what either one of us could explain.

“We were born for this,” I said, my voice was filled with awe. This connection went so far beyond the clicks I had with my friends, my dolphin, even Mica. At that moment, Blake could read my soul.

“Yessss,” he hissed. “That’s what I need. It makes me strong.” He brushed his lips against me, a kissper that hinted at more. I didn’t have a single brain cell left for anything but him and the promise of that kiss. My lips touched his almost reverently, slowly. Our connection was gossamer, and I imagined it disappearing if I pressed too hard too soon.

I looked at him, eyes wide; barely able to keep myself together with the way I shook in his arms. I wanted to hide a bit of myself from him, but I couldn’t. I had no place to go to pull away. My only option was to get closer, to give more. I  pushed away the fear, the layers of human protection my rational side  thought I needed, and let him in even more. I expected to lose pieces of myself, being that open, but instead I gained. Little bits of him attached magnetically, bonding to each cell, clicking into a place that fit him, and only him perfectly.

My ribs split open to let him in because there wasn't room for air. Every breath became a strain until I figured out that instead of oxygen,  I needed him. He nodded, and I put my mouth on his. It was like our first kiss all over again.

Clicks (The Dolphin Prophecy Book 1)

Clicks - When you just know.

Clicks are the sounds the universe makes to tell you what will happen next. Truths you hear in your heart that you can't explain.

For sixteen year old Cami, the clicks won’t stop. They’re telling her to fall in love with the wrong twin, that her family is hiding something, and that Pinhold, her pristine Island home, is in danger. It's hard to trust them when they go against everything she knows.

But then an ocean mystery makes people sick, sinking the best swimmers to the seafloor and, while they're not dead, they're barely alive.

Modern medicine and island legends have no answers for Cami. Can she trust her instincts to find a cure, or will she lose the most important people in her life forever?

Echoes (The Dolphin Prophecy #2) by Amy Evans

ECHOES is the sequel to CLICKS, book one in The Dolphin Prophecy series
by Amy Evans.

CLICKS was nominated for best new release at the UtopYA
conference for Young Adult and New Adult books. Five star reviews call it
fresh, unique, fun. ECHOES – book two of the Dolphin Prophecy by Amy
Evans.

CLICKS are moments of divine time, when the universe stops to tell you
what’s going to happen next. They’re instincts, truths heard in your heart that
are completely unique to you.

ECHOES are reverberations in the spiral of time,
repeating lessons earlier generations never learned. They’re louder and more
dangerous than CLICKS, ideas that just won’t leave you alone. They repeat over
and over painfully til you listen, and cause damage if
ignored.

Sixteen-year-old Cami got big plans for summer now that life on
Pinhold seems normal again. Days on beach patrol, surfing and training, nights
with her friends, swimming with dolphins, or in Blake’s arms. But instead,
she’s working nonstop to help repair the island from a series of natural
disasters, which won’t end til they can get the pin to stand upright again. The
Guard decides to accept help from an old friend who’s keeping his ultimate
goals from them. He seeks secrets that only Cami knows, some she hasn’t even
discovered yet and will hurt everyone she loves just to get the information he
wants. Cami’s forced into a race against time to learn more than any generation
on Pinhold, but she has to do it alone. Those she used to trust for answers
don’t have any more. If Cami cannot understand the echoes and stop history from
repeating itself, her failure will bring destruction far beyond Pinhold’s
deceptively idyllic shores.

Excerpt:

Finn exhaled forcefully, like he had been holding his breath for a long time. I looked into his electric-blue eyes and saw nervousness melt to relief.

He squeezed my hand. “I could wait forever for you or take this as slow as you need as long as I know that you are here with me. I just needed to know that you are as committed to giving us a chance as I am.”

I smiled at him, a little bit of wickedness playing across my lips.

I placed my hand on his left shoulder and slowly it brushed across his chest to his right shoulder. His eyes began to glow, and then they darkened to a deeper blue. Hmm, it wasn’t only my eyes that changed. Good to know.

“You could wait forever, could you?” I taunted in a husky, low voice.

“Ugh,” he grunted.

I laughed, taking in his tortured expression and tense muscles.

“You are a little evil,” he rasped.

“No, baby. I promise I’m very good, and I don’t want to wait forever. Just a little bit longer,” I whispered.

“Get your sexy ass in the car before I toss you in the back seat and say the fuck with waiting,” Finn growled.

I licked my lips and thought about taunting him a little more, but the flash of his eyes signaled the end of his self-control. I scrambled into the passenger’s seat and buckled up.

Finn waited in the same spot for a long moment. He shook his head like he was clearing out an image and walked around the car, chuckling. “Good choice, but the other way could have been more fun.”

“Oh, it will be. Just not tonight,” I promised.
